The late Ray Charles wins big at Grammys

The late Ray Charles managed to bag eight Grammys at the recent the 47th annual Grammy Awards, Billboard.com reports.

 

All of Charles’ wins stem from his final release, Genius Loves Company. The duet the late singer recorded with Norah Jones, Here We Go Again, won Record of the Year and Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.

 

“I'm going to cry, actually,” Jones said as she accepted the record of the year award. “I think it just shows how wonderful music can be. It's at 100% with Ray Charles.”

 

Charles' album of duets also won for:

# Album of the Year

# Pop Vocal Album

# Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying a Vocalist

# Best Gospel Performance

# Best Enginereed Album

# Best Surround Sound Album
